Sankha Guha’s career began in the late ‘80s on Channel 4’s youth current affairs programme NETWORK7. His screen debut - robbing banks on a live outside broadcast! - was featured at the BAFTA awards ceremony when the show won a British academy award for innovation.
He went on to become one of the primary faces of network BBC television - his presenting/reporting work including news, current affairs, science, consumer and travel. He has also presented/reported on ITV, Channel 4, Discovery USA, The Travel Channel, Al Jazeera International and AMC Networks (Europe).
Among his best known programmes are the ground-breaking travel series ROUGH GUIDE TO THE WORLD (BBC2), the prime time current affairs show HERE AND NOW (BBC1), HOLIDAY (BBC1) and CHANNEL 4 NEWS. At ITN he was appointed Tokyo based anchor for CHANNEL FOUR DAILY and covered news stories throughout Asia.
As a travel writer he has been a regular contributor and columnist for the Independent, the Observer, the FT and the Telegraph. He was named TRAVEL WRITER OF THE YEAR in 2009.
His production company ZuluTango is based in London. Sankha has been commissioned by the BBC to make numerous documentaries including HOW THE HAMMERS STRUCK GOLD (BBC1) – an investigation that revealed how the London Olympic Stadium was gifted in effect 'rent free' to premiership football club West Ham United.
